What's going on: SAN updates, a fresh newsletter section, Tech For Palestine
Here’s what I’m working on, what’s inspiring me and how you can work with me as of 1/11/2024.
Welcome to what I’m calling “What’s going on over here right now.” It’s where you’ll find: What I’m working on resources and inspiration I want to share and the latest information on working with me if you want to! These updates are only sent about once a month.
Without further ado, here’s what’s going on over here right now:
What I’m Working On:
Substackers Against Nazis: My Next Steps
Well, lookie here: Substack says it will ban some Nazis
I do consider this a win that moved the needle (even if ever so slightly,) and that gives me some hope.
But, as for many others, this result also feels like SO little far too late, and does not at all involve a reformed or more responsible approach to content moderation from Substack. It’s like a small child stealing his classmate’s cookie, getting caught, saying “ok fine I’ll give it back,” only to go steal another lunchtime treat tomorrow. Except this cookie has literal life-and-death implications, so there’s that.
I’ll write more on this later, but I’ll be moving from Substack to another platform, (hopefully by next month,) and you won’t have to do a thing to keep getting posts from me!
A New Piece of The Publication (Title Coming Soon!)
There’s “more” and “different” and “deeper” that I want to say about what I think it takes to find success in this weird online world we’re living in, and I mean that about both: finding a definition of success that fits and finding a way to achieve it.
This new section will contain Tarot-sparked explorations of creativity, work and success in an output-obsessed world.
These posts will also come complete with coaching prompts for you to journal, ponder or discuss with your biz buds. Eventually this will be a feature for paid subscribers only, but the first few will be free for everyone to check out!
How is it any different from The Weekly Three??
While The Weekly Three is meant to help you take action in the immediate short term of your business, these posts are meant to explore, examine and maybe shift our approach to the way we perceive and achieve success. It’s broader support for intentional action on your bigger plans, because I think the big picture and the long haul carry a lot more weight than we give them in the mind-numbing, “quick-start, pivot now, new algorithm, finish and move on” environment we’re pushed to live in.
I’m REALLY fucking excited about it, ok?!?!!!!? IT’S GONNA BE GOOD!🙌🏽
The first one will hit your inbox on January 17th.
PS - the Build A Better Offer workshop is coming very soon!
I’m recording the lessons for you over the next couple of weeks! IT’S ALMOST READY FOR YOU TO JOIN! Wowowowoowowwwww I’m so. fucking. proud. of this thing.
This workshop is meant to help you:
Know where an offer fits into your overall business ecosystem, from freebies to the most personalized coaching package.
Know where the offer fits into your clients’ lives in order to call in the right people at the right time.
Understand the true, tangible benefits so you can share about it with ease, whether in your marketing or in a face-to-face conversation.
Trust results that you can actually deliver instead of making pie in the sky promises you may have no control over.
Have faith in the real impact of your offer and stop burning yourself out by overdelivering or trying to “prove your worth” for sales.
Best believe you’ll be the first to know when it’s ready! PPS: It’s going to be just $150, because I’m also over this take-out-a-third-mortgage-to-afford-it pricing. It will likely increase a bit down the road, but I want this to be as accessible as possible without spitting on the blood, sweat and tears it took me to produce it. (So many secretions…)
Things I Think Are Cool:
Tech For Palestine
(Shoutout to my husband for being in the middle of watching this interview with Paul Biggar while I got ready earlier this week, thus providing me with a hope-building new discovery💞)
In a much less ambiguously positive move by a white dude in tech, Paul Biggar, the founder of CircleCI and Darklang has created Tech For Palestine. Here’s the description of the organization straight from the press release:
“Tech For Palestine (https://techforpalestine.org) is a loose coalition of over 40 founders, engineers, product, marketers, community builders, investors, and other tech folks. We are launching (https://github.com/techforpalestine) open source projects, tools, and data to help tech people speak up for the Palestinian people and their humanity, and to highlight the inhumanity of investors and tech leaders making angry, vengeful, and genocidal claims about a civilian population.”
You can check out Biggar’s personal blog post about it here.
ASMR Ambiances (For Almost Everything)
There is literally not a day that my (so very sometimes too much) busy brain doesn’t benefit from listening to or looking at these videos. I align them to the kind of writing I’m doing. I use them to calm my anxiety. I tune into them to help me focus. They’re the fucking best.
The two channels I’ve been loving the most lately are ASMR Weekly and Martia’s Muses.
How To Work With Me Right Now:
Business Tarot Readings, starting at just $75.
I love doing these for my clients, and I love even more when people tell me about how our readings have helped them within the scope of their success. Here’s what some kind folks have shared:
“The reading actually has very literal components based on the biz side of things over the last year or more…”
“Thorough, thoughtful, entertaining, personalized and well explained.”
“THIS WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!”
You can grab your own personalized reading from me here.
Have a way in which you’d like to work with me? Throw me a suggestion! Let’s chat!
And if you feel so called, please hit reply and share what you’ve got going on over there right now—I’d really love to know 💜
That’s what’s going on over here right now, I love ya!
