The Weekly Three 3/11/24: Before you burn it all down…
Fire has the power to destroy, but it can also fuel, heal and forge.
I love how sometimes we talk about people as if we ourselves aren’t also people. I think because others sometimes seem so outside of us that even the most empathetic human can forget that they themselves also happen to be human (and not alien, as I so often feel myself to be…)
The one constant about humans is that we are ever-evolving, and often it is our interactions with each other which push and pull us forward into that evolution, both collectively and individually.
There’s a lot of people energy in this week’s spread, so “hold on to your hats and ga-lasses,” as they say at the beginning of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, cuz navigating the path through this might feel as loopy as a rollercoaster (in a good way.)
Welcome to The Weekly Three! Each Monday, I share a three-card Tarot spread to help you focus your intuitive energy in real life, and take action with intention inside your business.
I pull these cards with the collective energy of my community in mind, but if you want a custom spread of your very own, you can get it right here.

In The Cards: You’ve gotten a little ahead of yourself.
There’s a progression in this week’s spread, a natural evolution as the Knight progresses to the Queen and the Queen to the King. With the cards in this order and these particular positions, I see a path that leads to growth. And while there’s a potential bump in that road (as you’ll see in a minute,) there’s also a perfectly ripe and ready solution to that bump. Let’s dive in…
The Knight of Wands is all fiery passion and movement. There’s a very single-minded focus to Knights that allows them to barrel through obstacles and build up momentum. They can also be a little stubborn and over-enthusiastic in needing to prove themselves.
This card in particular holds a lot of charisma, creative energy, connection to gut instincts. While that can be a really winning combination when the heat of that fire is channeled well, if it’s not—we’ve got a stubborn fire out of control.
The Queen of Wands reversed is where I see the possible snag in this path. When this Queen is upright, she’s warm, encouraging, captivating and independent. She can help you take your ambition and get it going. She believes in your ideas and she knows you can do it!
But reversed, she can be restless and distracted. Her independence becomes selfish and instead of encouraging you, she’s looking to take you down. At best, this is someone with too many irons in the fire and no sure way to manage them all. At worst, it’s a person who uses their power to burn you down.
You can see how the combination of the Knight of Wands and the reversed Queen of Wands could create somewhat explosive energy, right?
The way through, though, presents itself in our third card: The King of Pentacles.
This is grounded, harvest-time energy. It’s discerning, responsible, generous and pragmatic. It’s way more risk-averse than the cards in the suit of Wands, but that’s not because this King is afraid—it’s because they’re mature enough to operate on their real needs for the future.
This is not to say that fiery generative energy is less valuable than earthy generative energy, just that in this particular spread: a fire threatening to burn out of control may need to be banked a bit in order to achieve a favorable outcome.
In Between: Context shifts and so must we.
The biggest mistake I have ever made in my entire life: not changing my actions when my context changed.
I’ve done this twice to date. Once, I fucked myself up emotionally. The second time, I fucked myself up financially (which consequently also fucked me up emotionally.)
I hope I never stick to my guns that hard ever again. It’s one thing to stay true to your values and principles and a whole other thing to stay stuck on an outdated operating manual.
I imagine it’s like trying to drive an automatic as if you’re driving stick—it doesn’t fucking work. (Correct me if I’m wrong here. My one attempt at driving a stick-shift ended with me and my aunt careening down a Bay Area hill screaming our heads off. There was no second attempt…)
The point is, if you’re not adapting to circumstances that have changed, you’re working from incomplete information and taking action that may not even apply anymore. That is completely counter to the efficiency that the King of Pentacles also favors. If you want to get the best outcome with the least resource expenditure—financial, emotional, mental, physical or otherwise—you have to be real about where you’re at, what you’ve got and what you actually need.
In Your Business: Adapt.
Is there something you’re holding onto with the fierce hard-headedness of a giant ox?? Are you forging ahead with such single-minded focus that you’ve forgotten to check your surroundings for change?
Because that’s maybe not helping so much.
In fact, it might actually be making things much, much harder. So how can you adapt? What part of your context has changed within the evolution of your business? Within the evolution of you as a human being?
Your new context may require a change of course and a different approach to your goals.
No need to blow everything up and start from scratch, (and no need to add fuel to any jealousy you may feel toward others and their goals…)
Just adjust. Be flexible and you’ll be able to funnel that fire into forging something amazing.
Until next week,
Zoha
